What's an SDS?
SDS stands for Safety Data Sheet. It's regulated by OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (HCS).
SDSs will cover the following:
1. Hazardous ingredients of a product.
2. Physical and Chemical characteristics.
3. Effects on human health.
4. Chemicals that will adversely react with the product.
5. Handling precautions.
6. Measures that can be used to control exposure.
7. Procedures in case of emergency.
8. First aid procedures.
9. Methods to contain a spill.
By obtaining proper SDSs for your business, you can improve workplace safety for yourself and employees who may become exposed to hazardous materials.
